Welcome back to Mahogany Hammock Trail! We’re rewalking this trail/boardwalk to show how much this site has changed! Florida is taking some pretty big strides to restore the wilderness that is the Everglades. This Hammock of trees is a great place to show those changes. The biggest change they’re making is the restore the water flow to the way it should be! Instead of forcing the water away from the Everglades in canals, they’ve blocked them off. Now the water is flowing through the Everglades more and more. The water levels are rising and the park is really looking good!
